On the Lookout for Highland Coos

On my checklist for Scotland was to seek out and find some of those fascinating Highland Coos. When I originally started my list you could find a few pics on some of them in the travel blogs but that was it. Now you see these beauties everywhere in the media. They are blowing up the internet and even Telus has an ad with them. Well, you can see why, they are just so adorable!

The first five pictures were taken on the Isle of Lewis. It was an extremely rough ferry boat ride over but we made it and within a half an hour I was rewarded with this small herd of about 7 coos

The babies look like little stuffed toys. There are books about a baby Highland Coo called Harry, I had to buy one for Aiden.
Here he is again without his Mommy. Very brave!
They have the BEST hairdoos, don’t you think!?
Could I take this picture to my hair stylist and ask for this style and colour?
Another angle because I just could not get enough. Yes, there was some sort of ancient hunting hut behind me and I did give it a once over but was drawn back to these guys.

These next pictures are from the Isle of Mull. This is where the 700 year old Duart Castle, the seat of the McLean clan, sits overlooking the Sound of Mull. I have thrown in a picture of the castle as it is a part of my ancestry. My grandmother was a McLean. We noticed this small herd of about five cattle, including one gorgeous little blonde baby.

I thought you might want to see the castle. Can you believe my planning (and by that I mean luck)! A double rainbow appeared just at the right tim
Can you feel the wind! I love that this little guy or gal is a strawberry blonde. I think this one is a bit older than the one that I saw on the Isle of Lewis.
I think that on the Isle of Mull the cattle stand into the wind.
I think this might be the same lovely lady because there is that cow lick again.

Well, that is all I have for you on the Highland Coos. I do have a couple of other posts that may interest you… Oreo Cows! And of course the gorgeous little Highland Ponies. You can find them in the feed or link to them by clicking on the Highlighted Words.
